Now that the weather’s cooling down, I want a cute little hat to wear – not something chunky and heavy just yet, but something that adds just a little bit of warmth. Something polished, and maybe even a bit kitschy.
And I just LOVE me some kittehs! I am such a crazy cat lady. I used to volunteer in Hawaii trapping feral cats and adopting the kittens out to loving homes. Then I got Cat Scratch Fever. True story. Anyway.
Cat-themed merch was all over the runways and is now in stores for Fall (check out this lovely printed Wildfox sweater
and Romwe’s knockoff oh-so-similar version). So, inspired by berets I’ve been seeing in my Japanese magazines, I decided to create my own Kitty version. And it’s my first foray into wet wool felting and hat-making. So stick with me and I’ll show you how!

With New York Fashion Week just barely over – and London Fashion Week drawing to a close – there has been creativity and Fashion with a capital F in the air.
To celebrate, Fiber One Bars and Brownies (the official snack of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week) has teamed up with Celebrity Style Expert Bobbie Thomas to encourage consumers to show their “great taste” through the first-ever Fiber One Snackcessory Challenge.

Fiber One sent me a kit with some supplies to get started…
But I went to town on the challenge and sourced my own materials to trick out that sunglasses case even more…and made a beautiful, chic case that can even accompany me to the most dressed-up events. (…like….Fashion Week….?!) Here’s how:

So it’s Back-to-School already – and for some it was last week, and others during the next couple weeks (my Fall semester starts Sept. 25). Now is a time when most of us – kids, teens, the collegiate crowd, and parents all – just don’t have a lot of time and are scrambling to try and get all the much-needed school supplies, textbooks, and other items all lined up and ready to go. (Plus it’s always hard to get back into the rhythm of things after a long Summer off.) 
Once you have a spare moment, though, this initial keychain charm is super-quick to pull together…and utterly adorable for your child’s (or your own!) bag or keyring. Simply Spray is a non-toxic, non-flammable aerosol fabric spray paint, available in a range of colors and easy to use.

You Need:
stencil (or, if you want to create your own stencil like I did, you need: digital image for stenciling / Sharpie / adhesive stencil film / cutting blade / cutting surface) / painter’s or masking tape / item for stenciling (mine is a plain white lightweight Summer scarf from Target) / Simply Spray Stencil Paint / old newspapers or something to protect your surface / paper towels

I tend to wear tights year-round; even in the Summer it’s often cool enough here in Portland to need that extra leg-covering. Right now tattoo-style tights are trending: get the bare look without being bare; the inked look without being inked.
