Well, since there were only 3 projects submitted to my last DIY Roundup, they’re all everyone’s favorites! I had a great time visiting all your blogs and checking out your pieces. You’re all so creative! Here they are, just to recap:
Katarina from She sells sea shells made an amazing statement necklace, inspired by Lauren Manoogian’s designs. You’d never think that this beautiful piece was crafted from paperclips and textile tape!
#2: Monika’s Plait Scarf
I tried very hard to find this tutorial; I really did. There’s no direct link to it, the forum is in Polish, and the site won’t let me search through anything without logging in. What I can tell from the thumbnail is that it looks like a braided rug. If anyone had any more success with finding this tutorial, I’d love to link to it!
Edit 1/20: Monika left a nice comment on this post explaining that it was a plait scarf project that she had finished but hadn’t linked a tutorial to it. Sorry I thought it was a rug – it looks very sweet all the same!!:-)
Teresa crafted her own pair of glitter heels: a breathtaking modern version of Dorothy’s ruby slippers. (The trick is to use tacky glue and spray adhesive – and you have yourself a pair of shoes that could rival the coolest Louboutins!)

Project in progress.
Whew! The holidays are going by FAST and it’s time for another DIY Roundup! I was hoping I’d have a project to share with you, but alas…hopefully it’ll be done by tomorrow. From Samantha over at Dollar Store Crafts, this woven rope necklace looks so high fashion! (And it’s made from two jumpropes – can you believe it???) I’m dying to make one of my own!!
Sarah from Simply Step Back made a beautiful stretchy jersey scarf (from her mom’s old tee) with a pretty fabric corsage as a bonus. Just in time for the cold winter months – and I love the stripes!
Stacie from Stars for Streetlights gave a pair of boots a new life by gluing scrap leather circles over them. You’d never know that she didn’t buy them like that – so boho chic!

I am terribly behind and having mini panic-attacks in-between braving the crowds at the mall and waiting in a line that stretches 3 times around the Post Office just to use the Automatic Mailing Machine. (This is, BTW, the exact same machine I use – Hub gave it to me for my birthday 3 years ago. If you know anyone who wants to get into studding their clothing, shoes, handbags, and accessories, the studding kit will set them on their way to spiky fabulousness – or for the DIY gourmet, make-your-own-chocolate or a sweet gingerbread train that will have to be safeguarded against prying little fingers until after the holidays.;-) And no serious DIY’er should ever be without a power drill – I use mine to drill holes in pendants, sand and buff metal jewelry, distress denim…and of course, make holes in walls! (and your drill doesn’t have to be pink for it to be perfect for you, despite what the hardware store guys may think:-)
